Physical activity is an essential component of a healthy lifestyle. Physical activity provides many benefits including cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and endurance, balance and flexibility. Additionally, participating in physical activity can decrease the risk of type II diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, osteoporosis, arthritis, anxiety, depression and many types of cancer. People with special needs in particular can experience added benefits from physical activity participation however, there are limited opportunities in our community to do so.
Adaptive Movements provides fitness classes to children and adults with learning, developmental and physical disabilities and mood disorders. Also, pre and post natal classes are offered as well as fitness classes for parents of young children with on site child care available. Check out our classes page for a list of class types available.
